While it has been a busy month developing our value adding software for our core business, we took the chance to tidied up our hostmedia.group microsite, making it easy to find the main services being developed. And with the busy month, here's a short update.
JavaPulse keeps moving
JavaPulse, our real-time application performance monitor for Java, ColdFusion and Lucee, has been publicly available since June. Since then, an official agent has landed for CommandBox, covering Lucee and Adobe ColdFusion servers alongside existing support for Java, Spring Boot and Tomcat. A query language for filtering requests, and a self-hosted MCP server so AI assistants can query your own JavaPulse data, are both in active development. Free to start, no credit card required, at javapulse.io.
EmailRelay: bringing SMTP relay in house
Most of our shared and reseller hosting currently routes outbound mail through MailChannels. EmailRelay is our own self-hosted alternative, and this month's work has gone into from strength to strength, we are happy to confirm we are in Alpha release in a minimal production use case, with MailChannels continuing to be the fallback to ensure stable email delivery. We will be IP warming and monitoring closely over the next few weeks.
hostmedia.ai: AI-assisted GitHub PR review
Also underway is hostmedia.ai (not shown yet on the Host Media Group site), a service that reviews GitHub pull requests using a mix of AI tooling, such as our internally hosted and isolated AI as well as Claude models. It runs as a GitHub App, watching repositories and posting structured feedback straight onto the PR. Still early stage: the requirements and technical approach are settled, with build work next.
